Alok Prasad is a skilled Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) professional with a strong background in chemical engineering. Currently, He is pursuing a PhD at the University of Bordeaux, where his research focuses on applying an integrated sustainability assessment framework to the direct recycling of lithium-ion batteries. This framework combines Environmental LCA, Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Social LCA, Circularity, and Criticality of raw materials to provide a holistic understanding of the environmental, economic, and social impacts of battery recycling technologies. His work aims to support the development of more sustainable and resilient resource management strategies in the growing field of e-mobility and energy storage. With an M. Tech from IIT Bombay, he has developed expertise in sustainability, carbon footprint analysis, and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). His experience spans diverse sectors, including chemicals, agriculture, construction, oil & gas, and textiles. At ICF India, he implemented LCA models for low-carbon fuels, while at Sphera Solutions, he contributed to product sustainability and circular economy strategies. Proficient in tools like GaBi, SimaPro, and OpenLCA, Alok has led over 15 LCA models, supporting global clients in decarbonization and sustainability initiatives.
